Tripping with your significant other is a great way to deepen your bond and have a new outlook on existing issues.
What do you do when your relationship gets a little rocky? Perhaps some form of relationship counseling if you want a third party’s opinion and help. In this day and age, couples are beginning to look towards a different kind of counseling that involves nothing but their significant other and the psychedelic substance of their choice.
It’s no surprise that psychedelics can be used to enhance a wellness-oriented lifestyle. Especially now that some governments are decriminalizing psychedelic drugs and even creating programs that lend a helping hand to individuals suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety, or end-of-life experiences with a psychedelic substance.
This preliminary evidence proves how tripping on a psychedelic can open one’s mind and relieve stress, pain, and other factors. Why not use the substance of your choice to rekindle a flame? Reports have gone into detail regarding how drugs like psilocybin and LSD could be used for relationship therapy.

Because of helpful and progressive findings like from the report above, there’s been a significant increase in couples using psychedelics together to solidify or reestablish their bond, have a new outlook on existing issues, and experience the refreshing and rejuvenating sensations that come with a trip.
Other sources say that relationship counselors are finally beginning to shed light on how psychedelic substances could be used to replenish a relationship, give it a fresh start, and allow individuals to open up about what’s really on their minds.
As per VICE, a relationship counselor administering mild doses of psychedelics in a controlled environment would ask a series of leading questions about fantasies and desires, then the couple will receive counseling regarding their answers and experiences.

Kripi Malviya is a psychologist and founder of the rehabilitation center TATVA. She spoke with VICE about how psilocybin, in particular, could be used in relationship therapy. She says the substance has a great potential as a “catalyst for such therapy because it tears down all your walls and filters, and changes the way you think about the relationship.”
She explained this deeper level of understanding between both parties helps them search “outside of the set patterns” in the brand and could help two people “feel closer to each other.”
Additionally, Malviya clarified that a psychedelic trip often makes someone feel “more attractive and ephemeral.” So, that “self-transformation” we go through expands into couple transformation where both individuals feel a sense of togetherness and rejuvenation.
