Sugar Cane Cannabis is the first Canadian facility on First Nations land.
British Columbians are witnessing a significant milestone in the Canadian cannabis industry.
Sugar Cane Cannabis is the first Canadian cannabis facility to operate on First Nations soil. It’s a 7,000 square foot facility that acts as part dispensary and part cultivation site.
Consumers can purchase their cannabis in the same facility where it was grown.
The facility is located in Williams Lakes and hopes to harvest its first crops in about five weeks.

Chief Willie Sellars of the Williams Lake First Nation (WFLN) explained that launching Sugar Cane Cannabis has been “a very long journey.”
Sugar Cane Cannabis is the first WFLN cannabis facility that operates under Unity Cannabis.
The new facility will offer a revenue stream for WFLN and provide job opportunities for people at WLFN and around the province.

Sugar Cane will receive its cannabis plants from Life Cycle Botanicals. Each premature plant will be transplanted and grown within the Sugar Cane facility.
The plants will make their way into one of the five rooms in the facility. Each room contains different
British Columbia’s first farm-to-gate cannabis facility just opened last week. Although, parts of the facility are still under construction.
