A simple breakthrough that's changing lives.
Himalayan Hemp’s Sanitary Pads are changing lives for women in the Himalayas, and we hope to see more endeavors like this in North America soon.
Himalayan Hemp is on a mission to create an economically viable menstrual revolution and spread eco-caring Himalayan Hemp sanitary pads throughout the world in schools, colleges, NGOs, travel enthusiasts, and new mothers with the company’s maternity pads.
It also strives to improve basic feminine hygiene and sanitation while promoting menstrual health by using healthy and organic Himalayan Hemp Sanitary Pads, the future of a woman’s menstrual cycle.

All menstrual pads created by Himalayan Hemp are reusable (easily washable), biodegradable, rash resistant, anti-inflammatory, UV resistant, 100% organic, itch resistant, and can be used for all flow types. All pads are lab tested to ensure each is created with care and with the proper materials to reflect the above statement.
Although there are many health advancements for a woman’s menstruation cycle, the majority still use standard disposable pads that are surprisingly one of the leading causes for ovarian cancer, cesarian cancer, skin dermatitis, hormonal dysfunction, and thyroid-based conditions.
This is why Himalayan Hemp decided to create cannabis hemp-based sanitary pads for menstruating women. The company hopes to provide women with a dermatologically safe alternative during their menstruation cycles while taking advantage of the medicinal plant’s many internal and external benefits.
Himalayan Hemp also wants to help another struggling sector of society: farmers. Although they grow food and save soils from harsh contaminants, farmers are one of the economically weakest sectors.
Himalayan Hemp’s raw material for its sanitary pads comes from the earth, giving farmers a sustainable alternate cash crop. In addition, because hemp offers much biomass per acre, the plant can provide a stable source of income since menstruation is a monthly occurrence, which means farmers would never lack demand for the plant.

As of now, Himalayan Hemp doesn’t ship outside of India. But, in the country, there are over 47 million menstruating women between the ages of 12 to 48. The majority of these women use disposable pads.
The average sanitary pad package contains 36 grams of plastic, and after calculations, that leads to 7200 tons of plastic left to sit in waterways and landfills for hundreds of years.
This is why Himalayan Hemp wanted to take a step in the right direction by creating reusable and biodegradable sanitary pads that will benefit both women and the environment.
