Television personality, actress, and producer La La Anthony recently invested in Leune, a cannabis company on a mission to address social injustices.
Alongside celebrities like Carmelo Anthony, Houston Rockets’ John Wall, and sports agent Rich Paul, 39-year-old MTV Host turned businesswoman La La Anthony is one of the core investors behind cannabis company Leune, who announced a $5 million seed round last April.

Leune is a small internal company, with only about ten active members based in the city of Los Angeles. Its mission is to share the stories behind each individual product to steer the conversation onto something more meaningful than just getting high.
Leune was founded in 2018 by Nidhi Lucky Handa, a strong advocate for social justice who uses the company’s proceeds to give back to various causes.
A prime example of this is the company’s all-in-one vaporizer Piña Daydream. The product’s net proceeds go towards the Last Prisoner Project, a cannabis-reform nonprofit dedicated to help those still incarcerated for nonviolent, cannabis-related crimes.
This took many celebrities like La La Anthony by surprise, inspired as ever to invest and take part in a company whose mission statement stands out from other competitors. Supporting a company founded and led by an extraordinary woman of color, further inspired Anthony to invest.
“I’m so happy to join them on their journey; being in this specific industry brings with it a large platform and serious responsibility, and we are very excited to use our collective Leune voice to help bring awareness to social injustice and inspire true, positive change,” states Anthony.
Leune can be found in over 130 dispensaries across California and on 19 different delivery platforms. With an objective to continue expanding as cannabis becomes legalized in more states, it’s safe to say that we’ve only seen the start of what Leune has up its sleeve.
